Necrophagist's debut album Onset of Putrefaction telah keluar dari cetak selama bertahun-tahun. Perkusi di album ini ditangani oleh drum mesin. Morbid Angel

Morbid Angel is an American death metal band based in Tampa, Florida. They, along with Death, Possessed, Obituary, Massacre, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, and a handful of others were crucial in the development of the death metal genre and its standards, separating it from thrash metal completely. UK music magazine Terrorizer ranked two Morbid Angel albums in its "Top 40 Greatest Death Metal Albums," with their 1989 debut Altars of Madness appearing at number 1. Decibel Magazine also rated guitarist Trey Azagthoth as the number 1 "Death Metal Guitarist Ever". The band's songs are complex in arrangement, owing to the considerable technical skills of both Azagthoth and drummer Pete Sandoval (who also played in the grindcore/death metal band Terrorizer). According to Nielsen SoundScan, Morbid Angel is the third best-selling death metal band in the United States with sales over 445,000 in the United States alone, with their third album Covenant being the best-selling death metal album of all time in the United States, at over 127,000 units sold.

Morbid Angel was formed in 1983 in Tampa, Florida. The band made their debut in 1987 on New Renaissance Records. They recorded their debut album, Abominations of Desolation, in 1986, but the band was unsatisfied with the final product and it remained unreleased until 1991. Their first proper studio album, Altars of Madness, was released in 1989.

Morbid Angel was one of the original death metal bands signed to Earache Records, and was also influential in the transition of death metal from its thrash metal roots to its current form by adding guttural vocals, up-tempo blast beats, incorporating atonality in guitar soloing, and dark, chunky, mid-paced rhythms. They were also the first death metal band to have a touch of mainstream success, such as being signed to Giant Records in 1992 and having the music video for the song "God of Emptiness" shown on an episode of Beavis and Butt-head.

The band's original lyrical themes focused mostly on Satanism, Occultism and anti-Christian subject matter, but from Blessed Are the Sick onward, the lyrics slowly moved toward the ancient Sumerian gods. Much of this is a nod to the Simon Necronomicon, which was influenced by Sumerian mythology as well as the author H. P. Lovecraft, as well as a fascination with the Roman Empire, though anti-religious elements continue to permeate the lyrics. Their albums are notable for being released in alphabetical order (their first album starts with the letter A, the second with B, etc.). Guitarist Trey Azagthoth has said in an interview that it was a coincidence with the first two albums, but has been done consciously since then.

As stated on their official website, Morbid Angel's appearance on some of the mid-summer 2008 European festivals is announced as a "short break from writing and pre-production of their new 8th Studio album." Morbid Angel is currently under contract with French label Season of Mist and the label will release their new album in 2010. In May 2008, it was announced Thor Anders Myhren of Zyklon would be the band's new touring guitarist.Myhren will also appear on the new album.

During European tours and festivals in 2008 a new song, "Nevermore", has been played from the forthcoming album.

On March 18, 2010, the band announced that Tim Yeung would play drums on the upcoming album, allowing Pete Sandoval to recover from back surgery.

Moonspell

Moonspell is a Portuguese gothic metal band with death, doom and black metal elements, formed in 1992. They released their first EP, Under the Moonspell in 1994, a year before the release of their first album Wolfheart. The band quickly gained status and became one of the most recognizable metal bands from Portugal.

Moonspell reached the Portuguese top first with their album Sin/Pecado, and were, along with Metallica and Iron Maiden, the only metal band to reach the first place of the Portuguese charts after the release of their album, Memorial, in 2006.With Memorial, Moonspell also became the first Portuguese heavy metal band to have a record certified gold status.[3] They are also very popular in Germany, where Memorial entered at 68th in the Top 100 Chart.


History
Early days (1992–1994)

Although they had been playing since 1989 under the name of "Morbid God",the band became Moonspell in 1992, the same year they released the promo track "Serpent Angel". In 1993, singer Fernando Ribeiro, drummer Miguel Gaspar and bass player Ares (not to be confused with Aires

Breakthrough (1995–1997)

After the release of mini-album Under the Moonspell, Moonspell signed with Century Media for six CDs. Wolfheart was recorded in Germany with producer Waldemar Sorychta and was released in 1995 and was followed by a European tour. Although the album had little or no recognition at the beginning. During the tour, guitarist Mantus quit the band and was replaced by Ricardo Amorim.

For 1995's Irreligious, the band again recorded with producer Waldemar Sorychta. While previous album was considered black metal, this one fell into the genre of gothic metal. The song "Opium" became the first Moonspell single. It quoted one of Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa's heteronyms, Álvaro de Campos, on his poem "Opiário" and its music video, featured the character of poet writing in a bar with the band playing. Along with the release of the album in a convent, the Convento do Beato, there were factors that helped the band selling 10,000 copies of the album in their homeland.

After conflicts with the band involving lawsuits, bass player Ares left the band and was replaced by Sérgio Crestana.

Experimenting (1998–2000)

Sin/Pecado (Pecado means "sin" in Portuguese) was released in 1998. It had a bigger experimental nature than its predecessors. The song 2econd Skin was released as a single. At the time they released the one and only Daemonarch album, Hermeticum. Daemonarch was a side project composed by all Moonspell members but drummer Mike Gaspar. The album was seen as a return to their black metal roots and its lyrics were all written by singer Fernando Ribeiro between the age of 14 and 16.

Sin/Pecado was followed in 1999 by The Butterfly Effect, recorded in London and produced by Andy Reilly. This album is considered to be very experimental in nature as well. Featuring "down-tuned guitar riffs, eerie synthesizer passages",the album was mainly composed by guitarist/keyboard player Pedro Paixão and was not very well received by metal critics.

Darkness and Hope and The Antidote (2001–2005)

Darkness and Hope was released in 2001 and was produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa, producer of Sentenced and HIM. The album reached 79th on German charts and special editions included covers of Madredeus, Ozzy Osbourne's "Mr. Crowley" and Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart". "Nocturna" was released as a single and music video.

In 2003, the band released The Antidote, with Niclas Etelävuori from Amorphis playing as a session musician on the bass guitar. The album was released with a book with the same title written by Portuguese writer José Luís Peixoto. Both the CD and book share the same concept and story and each song in the CD is sister to a chapter in the book that enhances the story in the lyrics. "Everything Invaded" was released as a single and music video. The band toured extensively around the world, playing at Rock in Rio Lisbon in 2004, a concert that brought them to more mainstream attention in Portugal. From this album on, the tours feature Aires Pereira on the bass.

In early 2004 the band recorded a cover of the jazz standard "I'll see you in my dreams" for the soundtrack of a Portuguese horror movie of the same name. There is an official music video of this song featuring footage from the film itself.

Memorial, Under Satanæ and Night Eternal (2006–present)

Memorial was released in 2006. Recorded with the producer of their first three albums Waldemar Sorychta, who also recorded the bass guitar parts, it was the first to be released under their new label SPV Steamhammer. The album topped the Portuguese album chart on its first week and also broke into the German Top 100 at number 68.Memorial achieved gold status in Portugal after selling 10,000 copies, making Moonspell the first Portuguese heavy metal band to achieve that.

Although the album is heavier than the previous, it was very well received and its release was featured in various Portuguese news broadcasts. A new release of the album was released in December 2006 and featured a DVD with live performances and the music videos made for the album. Music videos for "Finisterra" and "Luna" were released.

The band is currently working on releasing a DVD entitled Lunar Still/13 Years of Doom, but is having some issues of a legal nature and has been forced to delay the release, originally expected in September 2005. It has been pushed later to 9 December 2008 with a new title: Lusitanian Metal.

On November 2, 2006, Moonspell won an MTV Europe Music Award in the category of Best Portuguese Act.

The Great Silver Eye, a best-of album, was released on June 26, 2007.

In 2007, Moonspell released Under Satanæ, a re-recording of early songs.

The newest album is called Night Eternal. It was released on May 16, 2008. The lead single off the album, Scorpion Flower, features Dutch singer Anneke van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering).

Moonspell performed the "Blackest of The Black" tour with Danzig, Winds of Plague, Dimmu Borgir, and Skeletonwitch.

Moonspell toured Europe with Cradle of Filth, Gorgoroth, Septic Flesh and Asrai ("The Darkest Tour: Filthfest") in December 2008, and took part in a European tour with Cradle of Filth and Turisas, dubbed the "Darkest Tour:Filthfest 2", in April and May 2009.

Edguy

Edguy is a power metal band from Fulda, Germany that was formed in 1992.


Biography

Edguy was founded in 1992 by 14-year-old students Tobias Sammet, Jens Ludwig, Dirk Sauer, and Dominik Storch. The name "Edguy" was an affectionate epithet for Mr. Edgar Siedschlag, their math teacher at the time.

After two demos the band received a contract with AFM Records in 1995. Their first two albums were not very successful, but with Vain Glory Opera in 1998 they achieved a breakthrough, thanks in part to production (and additional lead guitar work) by Timo Tolkki of Stratovarius, as well as guest vocals by Hansi Kürsch of Blind Guardian. After another two albums they received a contract with the German label Nuclear Blast in 2004.

In 2001, Tobias Sammet released the first album of his side project Avantasia, a wide-scope metal opera including the participation of many well-known heavy metal musicians and vocalists.

Since signing with Nuclear Blast, Edguy has released two full-length albums, followed by their latest, Tinnitus Sanctus, and has extended their contract for three more albums.

Style

Edguy's lyrics are often metaphorical, alluding to metaphysical or social themes: conformity ("The Headless Game", "Mysteria", "King of Fools"), dictation by the church ("The Kingdom", "The Pride of Creation", "Theater of Salvation"), and dangers of modern civilization ("Navigator", "The Devil and the Savant"). To express such themes, Edguy sometimes use esoteric and hermetic expressions. Yet some of their songs are light-hearted or comedic ("Das Reh", "Save Us Now", "Lavatory Love Machine", "Life and Times of a Bonus Track", "Trinidad"). Edguy does not claim to represent any ideology; Tobias Sammet claimed "[the band is] not political and we are not religious; at least there is no key message in our songs telling you what to think in terms of anything". Edguy also employs lengthy and epic sections in almost every album.

Hellfire Club revealed Edguy's interest in experimenting within music by integrating an orchestra into the production. The album featured a variation on Edguy's style, with a less grandiose, more traditional heavy metal approach being embraced. The band's album, Rocket Ride, features even less symphonic and power metal elements, and is arguably more oriented towards hard rock. Their latest album, Tinnitus Sanctus, contains even more hard rock oriented songs, as the obvious lack of double bass drumming is evident, in contrast Edguy's older albums such as Vain Glory Opera.

Stratovarius is a Finnish power metal band that formed in 1984. Their material contains elements of power metal and symphonic metal. To this day the band has sold over 2.5 million records worldwide. HISTORY
1984–1989

Stratovarius was founded in 1984 in Finland under the name Black Water. The founding members were Tuomo Lassila, Staffan Stråhlman, and John Vihervä. In 1985, the name was changed to Stratovarius (a portmanteau of Stratocaster and Stradivarius), an idea of Lassila's. In 1985, Timo Tolkki joined the band, replacing Stråhlman on guitar, as well as contributing vocals and assuming most of the songwriting. He brought along not only strong rock influences, but also a neo-classical style.

The band released a demo to various record companies by 1987 and was picked up by CBS Finland. In 1988, they released their first two singles, "Future Shock" and "Black Night," followed by their 1989 debut album Fright Night. Their "Future Shock" single was filmed the same year, becoming their first music video.

1990–1993

After being dropped by CBS, the band went through several member changes, but in 1991 they managed to release the album Stratovarius II on Bluelight Records, which was re-released as Twilight Time through Noise Records the next year. The album was followed by one single, "Break the Ice," in 1992.
1994–1995

In 1994, Stratovarius released their third album, Dreamspace, featuring new bass player Jari Kainulainen, who joined the band when 70% of the new material was already recorded. The band had a following single called "Wings of Tomorrow. After an arm injury, Tuomo Lassila was temporarily replaced in the recording by session drummer Sami Kuoppamäki.

Tolkki decided to stop singing for the band, and they hired a full-time singer, Timo Kotipelto. The release of Fourth Dimension in 1995 was a huge success for the band. The song "Against the Wind" was filmed without any single support although, this time, no singles were released for the album.

1996–1997

Despite the success of Fourth Dimension, internal differences - particularly of the style the band was going for - prompted the departure of long-time drummer Tuomo Lassila, the band's last founding member, and keyboardist Antti Ikonen. Two new non-Finnish members were recruited: Swedish keyboardist Jens Johansson (of Yngwie Malmsteen fame) and German drummer Jörg Michael from Running Wild.

With the fifth release Episode in 1996, Stratovarius had finally found its sound and had a strong, diverse line-up. Episode featured a large choir and a string orchestra. It was another commercial success. It resulted in two new singles, "Father Time" and "Will the Sun Rise?."

Their next studio album, Visions, was released in 1997 without changes in line-up, and together with it came two singles, "Black Diamond" and "The Kiss of Judas." Both of these were filmed.

1997 also saw the release of their first compilation album, The Past and Now.

1998–2002

Destiny was released in 1998, and Infinite in 2000. With these albums, their fame and fan-base expanded, and they started gaining a stronger following outside Scandinavia, particularly in Japan. While Destiny only resulted in one single, "SOS," Infinite resulted in three: "Hunting High and Low," "It's a Mystery," and "A Million Light Years Away."

In 2000, Stratovarius toured with Sonata Arctica and Rhapsody of Fire.

In these years, Stratovarius also released three new compilation albums: The Chosen Ones in 1999, 14 Diamonds in 2000, and Intermission in 2001.
2003–2004

In 2003, the band released its most epic project yet, the two-album suite named Elements. With these albums, they reached a peak in their progressive and symphonic style of power metal. The first album, Elements, Pt. 1, was released in early 2003, followed by a world tour. The same year, it was followed by Elements, Pt. 2, both released on Nuclear Blast.

In late 2003, the band broke up, with Timo Kotipelto and Jörg Michael leaving after a very vaguely-explained conflict. Tolkki hired a new singer, Katriina "Miss K" Wiiala, and Anders Johansson of Hammerfall (Jens' brother) temporarily on drums. The rest of 2004 saw almost complete silence from the band.

Despite the break-up, the band still had to finish off their Elements tour. While touring in Spain, Tolkki was announced to have been attacked by a furious fan. Rock magazines and tabloid papers showed pictures of the stabbed guitarist. However, some time later news begun to spread that no stabbing actually happened. Around the same time, Tolkki was hospitalized because of severe mental illness.

It was later revealed by Keyboardist Jens Johansson on the band's forum that the break-up never happened, and that Miss K and Anders were hired as a publicity stunt to generate buzz around the band. The stabbing was also reported to have been a publicity stunt.

2005–2007

In January 2005, it was announced that Stratovarius had reunited with the former line-up. In June 2005, Tolkki announced that the band's bassist, Jari Kainulainen, had left the band due to personal reasons. He was replaced by Lauri Porra, a young Finnish musician.

Stratovarius then released the self-titled album Stratovarius in September 2005. During this time, Stratovarius began a world tour, starting in Argentina, which included a North American leg, where they toured the United States and Canada for the first time in the band's history. They played at such events as Atlanta's ProgPower, and in well-known venues such as B.B. King's House Of Blues in New York and Philadelphia's Trocadero Theatre. The tour also included European and Japanese cities.
2008

After a long period of silence, on March 4, 2008, Timo Tolkki officially stated the break-up of Stratovarius on his site. Internal tensions within the band were cited as the cause, saying that Lauri Porra and Jens Johansson were his only supporters, Jörg Michael was more focused on his session work, and Kotipelto was best for having a band by himself. The band was planning to release a new studio album, codenamed R.... R....., in 2008. Instead, however, Tolkki will be releasing the album himself in June 2008, and will be forming a new band around the album, called "Revolution Renaissance".

The remaining members of Stratovarius, however, posted a statement online giving their side of the story. They concluded by saying that the band was very much alive, but that Tolkki will no longer be a part of it.[4]

Tolkki rebutted with another statement online, his final statement, wherein he waived the rights to the Stratovarius name, as well as all profits from their back-catalogue.[5] Since Tolkki has written 95% of all Stratovarius songs since 1989, the continuation of the band without Tolkki would almost certainly change the musical direction of the band.

On August 22, Stratovarius announced that the new guitarist would be Matias Kupiainen. Over fifteen new songs were written and recorded as demos for the new album.[6]

2009

In February 2009, Stratovarius announced the upcoming release of Polaris, which was in fact released on May 21, 2009[7]. The album's accompanying tour commenced in May 2009. On April 29, 2009 Stratovarius released their 1st single for Polaris titled Deep Unknown. The single includes the songs Deep Unknown and Higher We go as well as Deep Unknown official music video.

On September 30, 2009 a Stratovarius concert at the Starlite Room in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada ended in flames when a ceiling mounted PA speaker caught fire. The concert stopped and the fire alarm went off, the building was immediately evacuated, no casualties occurred from this incident and the fire was quickly put out.[8]

Stratovarius plans to finish the Polaris world tour with summer festivals in 2010 and then begin work on their next album.

• Effects:
• The GFX-5 starts with 75 different guitar effects—each one completely rich and realistic. You can use up to 10 effects simultaneously, mixing and matching to create sounds that are all your own.
• The coolest thing about Zoom effects pedals are the way you can mix up all kinds of effects and save them as patches. The GFX-5 comes with 60 preset patches, all of which can be tweaked and resaved, and enough memory for you to create and save 60 totally original effects sounds.
• The GFX-5 also introduces a whole new effect: “Energize.” Energize boosts your tone over-the-top, adding power to leads, or lifting your rhythm playing above the rest of the band. The innovative ENERGIZE effect boosts mid and high frequencies while tightening the low end. You'll feel the energy coming out of your system. This is great for playing in a band, boosting your tone up and over even the loudest rhythm sections. Energize also lets you produce a robust bottom-end even with smaller, low-power guitar amps, and optimize your sound quickly and easily for different acoustic environments.
• VAMS — Variable Architecture Modeling System
• On top of the nearly limitless effects possibilities, the GFX-5 has Zoom’s VAMS amp modeling which allows you to simulate 30 types of classic and high-tech amplifiers. From classic combos to latest high-power stacks, from warm overdrive to radical fuzz. The drive module has an additional Turbo and Edge key, as well as a warm, accurate acoustic simulation.
• DRIVE Module
• The DRIVE module is comprised of 11 modeling patterns, with three variations of each: Classic, Standard or Modern. The variation control allows you to create new sounds like "STANDARD - OVERDRIVE" or "CLASSIC - FUZZ". Using the drive knob, you can dial-in the sound you want instantly.
• TURBO Key
• Boosts the sound pressure to create a heavier sound with more powerful distortion. Great for churning out those power chord riffs.
• EDGE Key
• Adds punch and edge to the high frequencies. In combination with the TURBO key, you can get a seriously hard-hitting metal sound.
• GAIN Control
• Lets you directly control the GAIN parameter which determines distortion intensity. The actual adjustable range varies according to the selected sound modeling type.
• High-Performance Delay Effects
• For standard delay types such as mono delay or ping-pong delay where the effect sound alternates between left and right, delay time can be set in musical note steps. For example, you can automatically get a dotted eighth note delay from the tap tempo beat. Vintage-style echo as well as hold delay (max. 2 seconds) for sound-on-sound effects and reverse play are also available.
• Built-in Sampling Memory
• Up to 6 seconds of any input source can be captured internally. Record a guitar phrase, or audio from a CD player. Record and play functions are controlled with the pedals. You can play back the recorded samples at half or quarter speed without altering the pitch, to help you learn a complex guitar parts. One-shot playback is a handy feature in a live performance, and loop playback lets you overlay lead solos as a backing riff.
• Built for the stage
• The top panel of the GFX-5 features a logical and intuitive array of controls which allow efficient operation in real time. The 4-band equalizer has dedicated knobs for BASS, MIDDLE, TREBLE, and PRESENCE. This gives an operation feel similar to that of a guitar amp. In manual mode, the DRIVE, MOD, and REV modules can be switched on and off with your foot, and the delay tempo can also be achieved with the pedals.
• Module status keys
• LEDs integrated in the keys show the current status at a glance. The module keys are also handy for selecting effects in edit mode, and the VALUE dial makes it a snap to change a setting. A wide array of effect combinations can be quickly programmed.
• Real-time modulation pedal
• As many as 61 effects can be controlled with the built-in expression pedal. Besides adjusting the Volume, Pedal-Wah, or Pedal-Pitch, the pedal can also be used to adjust distortion effect gain, modulation speed, reverb mix and other parameters. The dedicated PEDAL ASSIGN key makes it easy to switch pedal functions on the fly, with the selected effect module being clearly shown by an indicator. Pushing the pedal fully down will switch the effect on and off. If you assign Pedal-Wah in the OFF mode, you can activate Wah in the middle of a performance without having to switch patches.

• With 74 effect types available, you have a formidable arsenal with which to create your own sounds. They're arranged under eight major banks: Boost, Compressor, Drive, EQ, ZNR Noise Reduction, Cabinet Simulator, Modulation and Reverb. Each module has several different options, and all can be mixed and matched for endless variations.
• Versatile patch memory
• A combination of effects used together is called a "patch". With 60 factory preset patches, you have several industry standard amp sounds used by major guitarists right at your fingertips. Pedal function settings and ARRM settings are also stored as part of a patch. Factory presets can be edited and saved in the user memory. You can save up to 60 of your own patches.
• Built-in Drum Machine
• Perfect for writing and rehearsing, the GFX-5 comes with a drum machine built in. It features 60 different rhythm patterns are included, covering a wide variety of genres. The “Tap Tempo” control allows you to adjust tempo quickly and easily.
• Built-in Sampler
• Built-in memory allows for recording up to 6 seconds. You can record a guitar riff, or record any audio phrase via AUX in. Then phrases can be re-played by 1/2 or 1/4 speed without pitch change—excellent for phrase training.
• ARRM — Auto-Repeat Real-time Modulation
• Zoom has been making the finest expression pedals and effects to go with them for years. And the GFX-5 adds a new dimension with ARRM. This new feature allows the user to control modulation of typical expression pedal effects without using the pedal. For example, the user can adjust Wah speed using the tempo control, and synchronize it with the GFX-5 internal drum-machine.
• ZNR - ZOOM Noise Reduction
• ZNR is a sophisticated noise reduction technology developed by ZOOM. ZNR eliminates the noise that was unavoidable in the past with high-gain distortion effects. ZOOM's D-GATE noise gate is also provided. Together with the FUZZ effect, this creates a true vintage sound.

• The sturdy chassis of the unit will withstand the rigors of use on stage or in a studio. The pedal is solidly built and weighs enough to remain stable on stage with cables plugged in.
